I started shooting on 35mm film while living in Nis, Serbia, and got my start in street photography. I developed a roll of film almost every week for 150 Serbian dinars (about $1.50), which gave me the freedom to make mistakes. When I take photos, I look for organic elements that are difficult to recreate. I'll always skip the photo if I feel that I could walk into a souvenir shop and find a postcard with the same scene, improved. That's my constant personal challenge as a photographer, and it results in dynamic images. I love photographing people and cities.
